BleacherCast Privacy Policy
BleacherCast is an iPhone app for live-streaming sports games to Facebook with a scoreboard and optional live captions in the video. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and how to delete it.
- FINTEXA doesn't run a server for BleacherCast and doesn't collect, sell, or share your personal information.
- Your camera and microphone are streamed directly from your iPhone to Facebook (or to a streaming server you choose), only while you're live.
- Live captions are created on your iPhone. Speech isn't sent to FINTEXA or stored.
- Your Facebook login, settings, and saved teams stay on your iPhone. You can delete them at any time.
Information the app uses
Facebook account
When you connect Facebook, you sign in through Facebook. The app receives:
- Your name and profile picture, so you can choose your profile as the place to stream.
- If you choose "Stream to a Page," the names and pictures of the Facebook Pages you manage, and an access token for each Page.
- An access token that lets the app create, and later end, live videos on your behalf when you tap Go Live and End.
Your Facebook access token is stored on your iPhone in the iOS Keychain. Page tokens are kept in memory only while the app is open. The app only posts to Facebook when you tap Go Live. It never posts anything else, and it doesn't read your feed, friends, messages, or other Facebook data.
Camera and microphone
The app uses the camera and microphone to show a preview and, when you go live, to send video and audio to Facebook (or to a streaming server you enter in Settings). The scoreboard and captions are drawn into that video on your iPhone. BleacherCast doesn't record or keep copies of your broadcasts on your device or anywhere else. Once you go live, Facebook stores the broadcast according to its own policies.
Speech recognition (live captions)
If you turn on live captions, the app uses Apple's speech recognition to turn the audio being streamed into captions. Recognition runs on your iPhone. The first time you use a language, iOS may download Apple's speech model for that language. Captions appear only in the video you're streaming; the app doesn't save transcripts.
Photos
If you add a team logo, you pick an image with the iOS photo picker. The app receives only the image you pick, not access to your photo library. Logos are stored on your iPhone as part of your team settings.
Information stored on your iPhone
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Facebook access token | iOS Keychain (managed by the Facebook SDK) | Stay connected so you can go live without logging in each time |
| Stream key you enter manually (optional) | iOS Keychain | Streaming without Facebook Login |
| Saved teams: names, abbreviations, colors, logos | App storage | Reuse teams across games |
| Settings and your last game setup | App storage | Remember your preferences |
None of this is sent to FINTEXA.
Third parties
- Meta (Facebook). The app uses the Facebook SDK for login and Facebook's Graph API to create and end live videos. Your broadcasts, and the information Facebook receives when you log in, are handled under Meta's Privacy Policy. BleacherCast turns off the Facebook SDK's automatic app-event logging and advertising-identifier collection.
- Apple. Camera, microphone, speech recognition, and the photo picker are provided by iOS under Apple's Privacy Policy. If you've chosen to share analytics with developers in iOS settings, Apple may share crash reports with FINTEXA. They don't include your broadcasts or captions.
- A streaming server you choose. If you enter your own server URL and stream key, your video goes to that service under its terms.
Tracking
BleacherCast doesn't show ads and doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites. iOS may ask whether to "Allow Tracking" when you connect Facebook, because Facebook requires that permission before an app can create live videos. That setting affects Facebook's login only. You can change it at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Recording other people
Games include players, coaches, and spectators, often minors. You're responsible for following your school's, league's, or venue's rules about filming and broadcasting, and for getting any permission they require.
Children
BleacherCast is meant for people old enough to use Facebook (13 and older, or older where local law requires). It isn't directed to children, and FINTEXA doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Retention and deletion
Information stays on your iPhone until you delete it. To remove it:
- In BleacherCast, go to Settings → Disconnect Facebook to remove your Facebook login from the app.
- Delete saved teams in Settings → Saved teams, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
- To revoke the app's access on Facebook, remove BleacherCastFB under Facebook Settings → Apps and websites.
- Delete past broadcasts on Facebook like any other video.
Full steps are on the data deletion page. Because FINTEXA holds no BleacherCast user data on its servers, there's nothing for us to delete on our side, but we're happy to help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California law), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to its use. Because BleacherCast keeps your information on your device, you can exercise these rights directly with the steps above. For data held by Facebook, use Facebook's tools. For any questions or requests, contact us below.
Changes
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
