BleacherCast Support
Need help? Email brian@fintexainc.com with the subject "BleacherCast support." Tell us your iPhone model, iOS version, and what happened. A screenshot helps. We usually reply within two business days.
Getting started
- Open BleacherCast and pick the sport, then enter the two teams. You can add colors and logos, and save teams to reuse them.
- Tap Connect Facebook and sign in on Facebook's page. Choose whether to stream to your profile or to a Page you manage, and who can see the video.
- Mount your iPhone (a tripod works best), turn it sideways, and tap Go Live.
- Tap the scoreboard controls to update the score, clock, and period as the game goes. Everything you change shows up in the video.
- Tap End when the game is over. The video stays on Facebook.
Common questions
Facebook says my account can't go live
Facebook only allows live video from profiles that are at least 60 days old and in good standing. To stream to a Page, you need to manage that Page and approve the Page permissions when you connect Facebook. If you skipped them, go to Settings → Disconnect Facebook and connect again.
I'm asked to log in to Facebook again
Facebook logins last about 60 days, and they end early if you change your Facebook password or remove the app on Facebook. Just connect again.
My video is choppy or the connection says "Weak"
- Move closer to Wi-Fi, or use cellular if the venue Wi-Fi is crowded.
- Before going live, choose a lower Stream quality in Settings. 720p holds up much better than 1080p, and Low bandwidth is best for a weak cellular signal. Quality can't be changed during a broadcast.
- BleacherCast lowers the quality on its own when the connection drops, and reconnects automatically if it's lost for a moment.
Viewers see the game a few seconds late
That's normal. Facebook Live usually runs 10–20 seconds behind real time.
Live captions
Tap CC on the live screen to turn captions on. They work best when the person speaking is close to the iPhone, like an announcer standing next to it. Captions are created on your iPhone. The first time, iOS may need a minute to download the speech model for your language. You can change the caption size in Settings.
Battery and heat
Streaming uses a lot of power. For a full game, plug the iPhone into a battery pack and keep it out of direct sun. If the iPhone gets too hot, iOS may lower the video quality.
Does BleacherCast save my games to my phone?
No. Your broadcast goes straight to Facebook and isn't saved on your iPhone. You can find, download, or delete past videos on Facebook.
